Larysa Switlyk appeared on the Alaska Wildlife Project Podcast this summer. She was up there fishing for salmon to fill her freezer where they had a record amount of Sockeye Salmon this year come up through the Kenai River. Switlyk met with Daniel Buitrago, Brandon Fifield & Chat Aurentz in their studio in Anchorage, Alaska. Click the link above to watch the Podcast on YouTube, episode 233.

They got to chat about how Larysa got into hunting, hunting with horses, hunting mountain goat In Kodiak with Mike Horseman from History Channel’s Mountain Men, Explaining what “Trophy Hunter” means, European Hunting Culture, Trophy hunting Iguanas in Florida, A close call with an elephant, and the future of outdoor TV. There were also a few trivial questions which one of my favorites was how many selfies everyone had recorded on their cellphones.

Switlyk first met the guys from Alaska Wildlife Project while they attended the Wild Sheep Foundation Convention in Reno, Nevada. During the podcast we learned that was their first time attending a convention outside the state of Alaska and Switlyk’s hunting booking agency booth “Unleashed Global Adventures” was one of the first booths they stopped at.
