Below is the story of my design:
Ever since the first time I shot a Gunwerks Rifle in Wyoming at their factory and shooting range, I dreamed of building my own custom long range shooting rifle for hunting. I remember putting to the test their “1000 yards out of the box” slogan. The sweet distant sounds of the “ding” after I shot made me an instant believer.
I was fortunate to be able to hunt with my boyfriend’s Gunwerks when I could and it really was a game changer in my hunting game. 3-400 yard shots became chip shots for us and to have that amount of confidence in your equipment means the world to a hunter, knowing you can make that shot ethically and confidently. A great bonus with building a GunWerks is that it comes in a custom SKB hard travel Gun case. I have personally been using SKB Cases since I started hunting. I have never had a problem with my equipment being damaged or thrown off sight while traveling. I trust those cases to protect all my outdoor and camera equipment! Waterproof Indestructible cases with a lifetime warranty. You really can’t beat it! And trust me, I have put their cases through the ultimate test!!
Each GunWerks comes with a nifty hand painted stock. I decided to Larysa Unleashed mine and add some hot Pink to it. Also, I think now my boyfriend or brothers won’t try to steal it!
Since I now have my own personalized fancy custom Rifle, I thought it would be a neat idea to also customize my SKB Case to match my rifle. Plus it's been forever since I’ve done a fun Arts & Crafts Project. So I ordered some natural sponges, different colored spray paints (I used Rust-Oleum Paint & Primer that works on plastics) and tested it on a small case first.

I made a piece of cardboard for my paint pallet. Sprayed my first color on the cardboard and quickly soaked up the spray paint in the sponge. The sponge does most of the work on the case. The spray paint dries quickly on the cardboard so only spray a little at a time. Also, it would probably be smart to use gloves so the paint doesn’t get on your fingers. If it does, I used alcohol wipes right away to get it off. I also finished the case with a clear protective spray.
I think it turned out great and I know it will stand out at the airport while traveling. It was a fun project and I think I will try some other designs on my other SKB Cases. If I inspired you, I would love to see your own designs. Tag @skbcases and @larysaunleashed your art designs on how you would paint your very own SKB Case and best design will win your very own SKB pistol Gun Case!
